On October 16, 2025, Shimizu Open Academy (SOA) 2025 was successfully held at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) in collaboration with Shimizu Vietnam and HUCE, welcoming over 100 participants.
“The Shimizu Open Academy” is a public lecture series conducted by Shimizu Corporation for young people and the general public. Through a variety of programs and hands-on experiences, experts clearly explain timely topics to help deepen interest in construction.
Theme: Experience the Cutting Edge of Advanced Technologies from Japan
This year’s SOA introduced four compelling topics that showcased real-world applications and the latest advances transforming the industry. Practical examples from Japan vividly illustrated how innovation is reshaping methods, quality, and safety in construction.

- “Nuclear Power for a Sustainable Society: The Role of Shimizu”
- “The Art of Curved Glass Architecture: Beyond Design Limits with Shimizu”
- “Conquering the Skies: Shimizu’s Secrets of Super High-Rise Construction Technology”
These topics drew strong interest from attendees, sparking active Q&A and discussion on the future of infrastructure, energy, design, and high-rise construction.
Strengthening Industry–Academia Collaboration
At the event, Shimizu Vietnam and HUCE signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further deepen their partnership in education, research, and professional development. This marks the 5th time SOA has been held at HUCE, underscoring our shared commitment to nurturing future engineers and advancing construction excellence in Vietnam.
