Shimizu collects personal information solely through fair, legal means.

2. Use of Personal Information

Shimizu uses personal information only when needed for business purposes, and within the scope of the purposes of use disclosed at the time the information was gathered.

When using personal information jointly with another party, or when subcontracting the handling of personal information to another party, Shimizu carefully investigates such parties and exercises appropriate oversight to ensure the information remains confidential.

3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Unless required by law, Shimizu will never provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the party to whom the information applies.

Shimizu recognizes the right of the party to whom personal information applies to request an exemption from the provision of personal information to third parties and will respond promptly to such requests.

4. Management of Personal Information

Shimizu maintains the accuracy of personal information and manages such information securely.

To prevent cases such as unauthorized access to, or loss, destruction, unauthorized alteration, or leakage of personal information, Shimizu carries out appropriate information-security measures.

5. Disclosure, Correction, Cessation of Use, and Deletion of Personal Information

Shimizu recognizes the right of the party to whom personal information applies to demand actions such as disclosure, correction, cessation of use, and deletion of personal information, and will respond to such requests promptly to the extent necessary.

6. Compliance with Laws and Regulations

To ensure the protection of personal information, Shimizu complies with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and regulations.

7. Organization and Systems

Shimizu manages personal information appropriately by appointing a Chief Privacy Officer and taking all necessary and appropriate security measures.

Shimizu provides management and employees with the training needed to familiarize them with personal-information protection issues and methods. Shimizu also ensures that personal information is handled appropriately in all cases during routine operations.

8. Design and Improvement of In-House Rules

To ensure appropriate protection and management of personal information, Shimizu designs and maintains in-house rules on personal information protection, including this Privacy Policy; raises awareness of such rules among management and employees; and enforces and continually makes improvements to such rules.
