Shimizu Corporation（President: Tatsuya Shimmura）has invested in the “Caldwell” multifamily residential development project in the City of Sandy Springs, Georgia, through its U.S. subsidiary, Shimizu Realty Development（U.S.A.）, Inc.（hereinafter, SRD）. This investment is part of Shimizu’s strategy to expand its real estate investment and development business in the United States.

Shimizu Corporation (President: Kazuyuki Inoue) (Shimizu) acquired an apartment building for lease in the city center of Philadelphia through its American subsidiary Shimizu Realty Development (U.S.A.), Inc. (SRD), as a part of Shimizu’s overseas real estate business jointly with a local real estate company, CSA Real Estate Advisors, LLC (CSA). A subsidiary of CSA and SRD established a joint venture which owns and operates the property. Under the investment structure, SRD owns a 97.5% stake.

The acquisition of the property was completed through the local subsidiary responsible for real estate investment in the United States, Shimizu Realty Development (U.S.A) Inc. The investment amount was approximately ¥16.5 billion (US$152 million).
