About Us

Message from the General Manager

Since 1984 when we were engaged in a Japanese ODA project in Yangon, Shimizu Corporation has maintained its long history in Myanmar and received high reputations on by the Myanmar Government on its ODA project. To extend our business opportunities into private sector projects, our Yangon office was registered in November, 1996 with DICA, and under the boosting of Myanmar’s economy, we re-opened up our branch office on 01 October, 2012 in Yangon, the commercial capital of Myanmar.

With a population of approximately 56 million, which enables it to supply the labor resources needed for industrial development, Myanmar labor market has greater comparative advantage to other South and Southeast Asian countries in wage level and diligent workforce who possess a good command of English, and this leads to rationale that more and more foreign companies, particularly in manufacturing and service industries, are expected to come into Myanmar.

Myanmar also enjoys geopolitical advantages resulting from its proximity to China, India, Thailand and other ASEAN nations. Japanese companies are intending to open factories either at Thilawa SEZ or forthcoming Dawei SEZ, and accordingly, this may increase in construction demand in the near future.

Our branch office is located at the first floor at Prime Hill Business Square (PHBS) in Dagon Township, Yangon, and it is reachable in 10 minutes’ drive from Yangon city center.

We would appreciate business opportunities with parties concerned for both public and private sectors, and we intend to make a further contribution to social and economic infrastructure development for Myanmar’s sustainable economic growth.

Thank you.

General Manager of Yangon Office
